While catalan is not spanish and is an entirely different language, I was able to study the class material in english and spanish. I promoted my learning of spanish on the street and with friends.

(1) Unimportant – (4) Very important
Personal recommendation
Don't choose obligatory (for the Spanish) classes, they tend to be crowded and difficult to pass, while not providing much knowledge. Go for smaller free electives where you can talk to the professors personally.
