The exchange rate was the main reason I spent more on food and other necesities, but other than that the pricing was not that different. Traveling was cheaper because the flights and train tickets are cheaper than in the United States and I took advantage of that and was able to visit many countries in Europe.

The cost of renting an apartment surprised me because it is much cheaper than in America. Howewer, utilities can be vey expensive so saving water/energy is very important.

Valoración global
I only studied at the university for two years before leaving the other two years for eramus and international exchange, but in general there is a lack of practical lessons and a lack of general challenge during them.

Recomendaciones de cursos
Choosing what modules to study was quite difficult as its such a big university and its quite hard to work out what you can actually take. The Spanish language course whcih was obligatory was very good for improving my language skills.

Maybe try and have more interaction between the foreign and native students. Because there were so many Erasmus students in the university, we all tended to group together so I'm sure the Spanish just looked as us all as the foreign group.

Alojamiento
Tipo de alojamiento: Piso o apartamento
Organizado por: Universidad de intercambio
Si volviera, eligiría: Piso o apartamento
¿Por qué?
the shared apartments are the only - ONLY good option in alicante. and what is more - better live in ALICANTE, not in San Vicente - Alicante atleast looks like a city : )))

Comentario personal
the university dormitories are too expensive compared to the shared flats. there are two options where to live - San Vicente, which is right next to the university but is a village and Alicante - which is down on the sea. Not good not bad. i'd say it's a good place to be for like 3-4 months not more.

This year, for me, has been the most amazing and diversified in terms of languages and cultures. I studied business courses taught in English, and languages all taught in the language itself e.g. Italian taught in Italian, French in French and the regional language Valenciano(of which I had no prior knowledge of), German taught in German and Spanish, Chinese taught in Spanish. Overall, I was attending classes with international and local students and I was taught in six languages - a tryly amazing experience. In terms of communication with the students the majority was done in English, Spanish and French.
