“Good University”

Overall
Interesting educational programs, which focus on the latest and relevant research. It is possible to learn not only the essential theory but also new points of view by mixing literature review, presentations and discussions with colleagues. This allows to get new insights of a topic and expand your knowledge beyond expectations.

Pros
Sharing knowledge, and learning from theory and colleagues.
Cons
The university paperwork is in German, and if you don't speak the language, it can be a problem.

Student life is full of ups and downs on a regular but studying at UniKassel makes these situations accommodating; especially the downs. Help is offered practically every step of the way once you ask and seek for it through lecturers, student tutors and representatives, career counselors and other services offered by the university.

On weekends Deutsche Bahn offers something called a "Schoenes Wochenende Ticket", a relatively inexpensive train ticket that up to 4 people can split anywhere in Germany for the whole day. Ergo fantastic for day trips for groups of students/tourists.

Housing
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
I had a single room and that suited me very well. I could meet some people if I wanted, and I had also the quitness when I wanted to study.

Personal comments
The housing is arranged by a firm named, Studentenwerk. This is a very good firm, but mostly unriendly. As a foreign student you will get priority.
