The first few months are the most difficult. The best thing to do is to jump in at the deep end and do not be nervous about your mistakes. I got better as the months progressed.

Back home I live in London, which is one of the most expensive city in the world. Verona, is a quite expensive as there are many tourists, but for sure, cheaper than a capital.

Personal recommendation
It is important not to stay only with erasmus/foreign students. They hardly speak the local language. Therefore look for activities where you get in touch with natives/locals.
