I loved living in my garret and would recommend it to anyone moving to Paris but, the older I get the more space I need!

Many of my fellow students stayed in CROUS accomodation because it was cheap and, though it was close to uni, it was quite a distance out of Paris. I found it better to commute to uni from town than vice versa

positive: you meet many people, common kitchen
negative: common bathrooms (2 showers for 17 students), no sound isolation
