Le Falstaff was a bar we visited quite a bit. They had a music festival downtown during my last week, it was a great time.

The campus is very drab, but Angers is a cool city and only an hour or so away from Paris by train.

If you want to do any traveling, buy your train tickets before you come to Europe. Somehow you can get better deals if you buy tickets in the US.
