I wish I had known...

Mainly administrative stuff. You had to try the hard way to get things done, but it is relatively easy to figure it out.

Get to the host university at least one week before the semester starts. It gives you the opportunity to manage all the administrative tasks in advance.

yeah, Koeln has very nice lakes usually with biergardens near Oh and dont forget, german girls are a bit difficult-prefer the foreign ones!! have a nice stay PS Alt bier is better than Koelsch

Das Studium an der Uni Köln war angenehm. Bei Fragen hatte man immer eine/n Ansprechpartner/in, jedoch war eine Hilfestellung nicht immer gegeben.

Pros

Es gibt sehr viele Fächer, die man studieren kann. Sie ist sehr bekannt. Köln ist generell eine tolle Studentenstadt.

Final comments

Be aware of the fact that things take time in Germany, and that you will have to visit a few public offices to get grants for residence and working permit. This can be an experience with mixed pleasure.

Final comments

1)One should take many courses in the beginning in order to be able to select the one that you like later. As an exchange student it might be hard to know beforehand how the courses are.
