The accomodation which was arranged for me was with fellow English speaking students and quite a distance from university. This was disadvantageous for getting to know the culture and as a result I found alternative living arrangements for the second part of the year. However, the system for arranging accomodation was efficient and very useful for a foreign student trying to find somewhere to live in a strange country.

The Vogeliusweg dorms are great! They are big and have more of an 'at home' feel with their design of 4 students to one living area than the Peter-Hille Weg dorms.

My overall language experience was great. The classes were in english for my program, but we had a German converstaion class. Plus I lived with a family and had an internship in the city. I was definitely more comfortable with the language by the end of my time.
