When getting the change to speak a foreign language every day and in different kinds of situations the language becomes more fluent and grammatically correct. You learn much more when coping with native speakers than in the classroom in your home country. My host university organized also language courses for excange students based on their previous knowledges and offered many possibilities. I was especially interested in knowing business language and terminology.

Personal spending habits
I spent more money abroad because I travelled a lot around the country, visited different towns, museums and did many different kinds of activities in my spare time. I got an unique change to see differents parts of Germany and when spending the money in travelling it is an lifetime investement.

It takes a bit time to get to know the best shops, for example to buy food from. When you find them you can save pretty much money and instead spend them on travelling.
