Housing
Type of housing: On campus
Arranged by: Home university
If returning, I would choose: On campus
Why?
Personal comments
Living on campus was good because you got to meet many people of all different nationalities so you had to speak French. There were many social events and a restaurant a good sporting facilities. Although it is situated on the outskirts of central Paris this is not a problem as there is a metro station directly outside.

“Cours qualitatifs”
Sabine H
France, Graduate
European Studies, 2020
Overall

Academic
Course recommendations
If you are not French then choose courses offered by D.E.S.C. (Departement Europeen de la Societe contemporaine) as many international students take these courses so they are taught with this in mind.

Teachers do not, in general, have offices in the university so it is difficult to get hold of them.

During my experience abroad, I ...
(1) Never – (4) A lot
Became familiar with another culture
Met people from other countries
Experienced a change in life
Advanced my studies & career
Final comments
Studying abroad requires some at-home preparation (finding a place, learning the language), studying in Italy where it is a constant struggle to obtain any kind of information at university, really makes you enjoy Paris' university, where everything is thought for students and not bureaucrats.

Language of instruction: English
Was learning English a key decision factor?

Personal comments
Most of the time I spoke English which was the language of instruction and the main language used among international students. Unfortunately, I could not practice French as much as I wanted to because it was difficult to get in contact with the local students.
