Charlie P's pub is a little Irish bar that had a very warm and friendly atmosphere that we liked to walk to and come home singing when we were finished. Maria's Cantina (dance club and karaoke) is also a lot of fun; much of the inhibition experienced with karaoke in one's own country fades when you're here:) And don't miss "heimfests" or dorm parties- do it at least once or twice:)

Not really. Don't go out every night of the week to save money. Enjoy a bottle of wine at home with friends instead.

There are too many students and too little space for everyone. Apart from that, Uni Wien is Vienna's best university.

Housing
Type of housing: On campus
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
I would have liked to live in an independent House with other Austrian Students, because it is so difficult here to meet people. And the "studentenheim" was not so clean!!!

I have learned German for ten years in Croatia, but I started to speak the language pretty well after the language course I took. At first, I have had some problems, but now I feel comfortable speaking German.

Work hard to put together a class schedule that allows for travel. Meet the other exchange students as soon as possible and as often as you can. Interact with the local population, eating the same foods and going to museums and other attractions
