Lisbon probably has the best nightlife in southern Europe! So enjoy!
Also renting a car is quite cheap, and it takes only 2 hours by car to go to the Algarve!
Visit all the miradouros in Lisbon, it will leave you in awe...

Personal comments
Good experience in general, but hard to start without any knowledge before arriving there. It was a good opportunity to have courses at the university of Lisbon to get the basics of portuguese.

portugal in some kind is cheaper, but this seduces you to spend more money. My main point of expenses was housing, where I always found pretty cheap commodities in Austria but not in Lisbon
