Personal comments
I'm supposed to take courses taught in English here at Complutense and I found some excellent ones after a lot of running and searching at the English Philology department. Still, all other programs are taught in Spanish. There's a free language course for Erasmus students in September and February.

None. By not having exams I was able to choose enjoyable rather than easy courses and also had plenty of time to focus on my dissertation research.

Final comments
I think that you can learn a lot with such experiences, I am used to live abroad (Tokyo,Paris,Catania,Monte-Carlo...)but I think that Spain is a very rich country in terms of culture and social life. My advice is to be brave and go abroad, is the best way to learn a language, to be independent, to understand how to do business with foreigners.
