The university staff helped me to find an appartment, but for those who prefer an accomodation in a student dormitory it's almost impossible to get a place there.

Through an association in the university, it was very well. everything were organised and we learned how to cook, to dance and we made also trips around spain.

the university offer housing for only a month but the students(all foreigners) need to stay for about 2 months.can get them to be independant,though.

The University had great professors and I enjoyed my time there a lot. The classrooms we not like those in the states but they were fine.

Why?
The university is not in the center of madrid. I wanted to go to the center to be more independent to do what I wanted to (in that case, you don't need any car) and to meet a maximum of people. And by the way, I wanted to learn Spanish. I achieved my goal by living with a mexican student and by associating with the Spaniards.

The advantage of the housing at the university is to live with other students and to meet different nationalities. It's easier to create new relationships quickly but, in my case, it wasn't enough to make me live out of the city.
