Why?
The campus of our University was out of Barcelona. So no interest living there.
The advantage of living in an apartment: Independence and also the amazing opportunity to have roommates and then to be able to build relationships with people who were first random persons, and now are like Brothers and sisters to you.

If you don't want to share your bedroom with another person, I wouldn't recommend the residence of the UAB. The existing single rooms are usually occupied and very expensive. But you can choose to live with a native speaker or with a person that speaks your own mother tongue.

I guess the vila universitaria is quite good, it needs to have more rooms! I have seen so may people ansious to live there... but there were not enough rooms.
