I have a lot more leisure time here, so I go out for diner and drinks a lot more than back home. Since I am only here for a short period I wanted to see and do everything and of course that costs money

Barcelona isn´t a very expensive city, compared to for example Londen and Paris. You can have a really good diner in a restaurant here for a very reasonable price. Just watch the drinks when you go out because the raised all the prices incredibly since the existence of the EURO.

Living costs in general were slightly lower, but i reated the year like one long holiday really, an experience of a lifetime, and so i ate out more, travelled more etc and so had no problems spending that bit more

Avoid the Eixample district and instead look to Gracia for cheaper housing. Very good location for city amenities and for university, but a lot cheaper in most cases!

The movile phone fayre is expensive and i don't have a phone at home.
The accommodation is cheaper than in France.
The night life in BCN is more expensive than in the rest of Spain but it's also more attractive!
I travelled less cause i was broke...
I didn't eat more than what i eat normally!

Housing costs are incredibly high if you compare it to the standard. There is hardly any apartment with internet connection. Cash dispensers are available throughout the city.
