What I loved with Madrid was the overall positive energy of the city. You could just walk around, pop in to any bar, meet new people and have a fantastic night. Although, do go to the fantastic museums and the beautiful park and dont miss the restaurant La Musa.

Housing
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Independently - I had no other choice
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
I enjoyed the freedom of having my own apartment, but i would have liked to share with spanish natives to improve my language skills.

As I mentioned above, I was very happy with the way I was living, although I would have liked to share the flat with people I would have had to talk spanish with. I shared the flat with people from my home country.

Personal recommendation
It is a bit out side Madrid. So if you do have a car, you are lucky! Take advantage of the small classes and the involved teachers -talk to them and interact.

Final comments
Go around as much as you can in Spain, in Madrid you are surrounded by beautiful diverse places. Start in time to look for accomodation, it can take a while, at least if you want to find a flat.

Spanish people are happy to teach you the language by talking, explaining and listening. If you just make a small effort to talk , you will learn the language easily.
