Personal comments
If you're the full year student, they try to provide you the place on campus. otherwise, if you visit TCD only for 1-2 terms, you have to search for accomodation yourself, because there is no room

If you have a place to stay with a fridge, groceries are definiety the way to go. Sandwiches are great and easy on the wallet. When your on the go, snacks are great and pizza was always around the corner somewhere. Also, although many of the guided tours were helpful and interesting I felt it was more fun and less expensive to go out and find landmarks, and monuments on your own or with a friend.

Trinity College is a great choice for Erasmus. Interaction with local students can be limited, but Dublin's a great city to live in for a year (but expensive!)

The people organising the course wanted us to live in a hostel... for three months. The said it was too difficult to get accomodation for all of us... But we all arranged it within a week!

On campus at Trinity the PAV, short for the Pavillion, was a great place to catch sports games and sit outside on the hill for relaxing evening of socializing. In the city the Quey was a good place to go for a good Guiness. The best place in my opinion was called Whole in the Wall and that is exactly what it was. Great place to mingle with the locals and really soak up the experience. In Galway, Ireland The Quey was also the place to be and a great meeting location to start off the night.
