The House was a wreck but the students who lived there was very kind and did everything to manage to build it up and making it work

My accommodation was without heating, with rats and without any working furniture. This sounds like it was terrible (and yes, it was, atleast in the beginning) But I have to comment that we were put together in a very special way through we were forced to cooperate and together we were able to work out a plan to make everything work, cultural, language and housing facilities. The situation created an atmosphere of teamwork over the culturalborder and created an experience where we learned to work together. AND that is the best visdom I have learned from the netherlands, to be able to solve problems together with people from different cultures and acctually I really loved it.

Well, I always liked to be surprised when going through all new situations and Here in Holland I nicely was.

Student should bear in mind that the Dutch system is very flexible and thus different from most world academic systems. The lecturers are mostly there to orientate students through their assignments. Students are requested to find additional litterature and study during their free-time.

Final comments

Holland is the gateway to Europe: Paris is 6 hours far by car, London 5 hours, Pargue 7 hours. If you like to travel this is the place to be! My advice is tp prepare yourself to meet other people from other countries and cultures. Be ready to learn languages and have life-time friendships.

Expect to read textbooks independently, "theory" is rarely covered in class. Make good use of vast library/computer resources. Interact more with other internationals, don't stick to your home college-mates

Travel within EU as much as you can! Bring warm wind/waterproof clothes, haha!

Final comments

The Netherlands is not very big country so you can travel alot because places are near, and is located in the middle of Western Europe so you will have the chances to travel around Europe easily. Knowing Dutch is not neccesary but it´s important.
