You´ll have a tutor, who (or also the Center for International Affairs/Hanken) will help you with any problems. The student union takes care of you leisure time, arranges dinners, parties and trips to Mosow, St. Petersburg, Stockholm... By payment of your student union fee you´ll have a health insurance.

Pay your student union fee directly in the office of the union in the "Casa", the bank charges are in no relation.

Academic
Course recommendations
courses are very intensive. try to do your assignments right from the beginning because the amount of stuff to learn will be enourmous in the end. however, if you continuously participate the final exam will not be a problem. if you choose advanced courses you have to epxpect a huge amount of home exercises but often need not write an exam (a very useful information; i wish i would have been aware of that at the beginning of the semester). moreover it is interesting to know that you are asked about your own opinion. it is not only learnt facts that count.

i wanted to learn the finnish language but as hanken is a swedish university this was some sort of a problem. there are no finnish courses for beginners. if you are quick enough you can take a finnish course at the helsinki university, just across the street.
