Lol... Sheetz is always a good place to grab some food or supplies. There are several cinemas right beside the campus and several pretty good places to eat and hang-out. Walking into Winchester also opens up some other options though not really any clubs or bars. While everything is mainly chains, if you're with friends it's all good.

Housing
Type of housing: On campus
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: On campus
Why?
Obviously it's a great way to meet other students, but if I was going back I would try to arrange a single room. While the single blocks are on the edge of the campus and involve a little walk, they're nearer to shops etc and might just give you some space since the campus is quite small!

My housing - University Inn - was good, but only because it was formerly a motel and had mainly junior/senior/exchange students. Other housing - especially Funk and Racey - seemed loud and cramped and generally quite chaotic, though lots of fun because of it.

Overall
I wish I had known...
Just to relax and not to worry. Shenandoah University and Winchester are great places - friendly and easy to adapt to. The large percentage of international students was great and we all became firm friends.

If you're doing business you'll be given a new laptop so you won't need to buy one in preparation. I would really suggest going for a single room.

Academic
Course recommendations
Professors Winn and Sample offered great classes. Generally the junior/senior level classes are really worth doing because they're more interesting. Advanced Management Theory and Practice was also fantastic - weekly field trips was a real highlight!

I missed out on writing for much of the year since this wasn't really a feature of most of the classes.

Expenses
Main source of funding:
Government assistance
Other sources of funding:
Personal savings
Work opportunities:
I didn't explore any work options
Personal spending habits
Obviously being away you spend more, but that all depends on what you do. The US is generally quite a bit cheaper than the UK and housing/food etc is significantly cheaper.

Personal comments
Text books are very expensive in the US for some reason so going online would be better. Generally everything is cheaper and available via Walmart etc :)
