To take part in class discussions, if the majority of students are french, you really need to know your stuff - slang, abbreviations, regional accents - you name it!

International students must follow (in most cases) a french class all through the year. Depending on the teacher, this can be alright -or an absolute waste of time.

I had a French girlfriend for this year. So I have learned French very well. Otherwise it is difficult to get into touch with French people at Sci-Po.

The University requires a good knowledge of the language, i guess life in the city is not so difficult even if you do not know a very good french
