Housing
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Independently - I had no other choice
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
Living in an apartment allowed my eating habits to remain healthy. The privacy, space, freedom and peaceful atmosphere was great to get away from the other exchange students.

Personal comments
It would be much more helpful if there were a few apartments that the university kept specifically to rent to international students. The hassels of breaking leases, and being homeless when we initially arrived caused a lot of stress.

Overall
I wish I had known...
Don't hang out with other exchange students, do all you can to meet locals in the community and go out with them as much as possible! You're there to get away from your home country!

During my experience abroad, I ...
(1) Never – (4) A lot
Became familiar with another culture
Met people from other countries
Experienced a change in life
Advanced my studies & career
Final comments
Australia's "culture" wasn't completely different from America, and you really have to hunt to find differences! Take advantage of your surroundings, find an internship instead of taking an extra course, and Talk to strangers! Take lots of pictures!
