Final comments
Well, you really can't go wrong studying abroad. I have travelled a lot so I didn't experience any culture shock or problems like that. (It was Australia too, not that different.) There were some people who really missed home and friends, etc., and had a hard time getting adjusted, but there were so many other exchange students that it was easy to find someone to relate to and help out.
As for travel, I definitely recommend saving up the extra cash and allowing as much time as possible. Oz is HUGE and there it just too much to do. It can get expensive though. I went to South-East Asia as well, which was totally excellent!!!

Work opportunities:

Personal spending habits
went out EVERY night... so i definitely spent more than back home. I spent more on accomodation because the location was really good, a nice area, but it was totally worth it. The cost of uni was actually less. I travelled heaps because I love to, but really, Australia is more or less the same price-wise as the states. The plane ticket didn't help any though.

Housing
Type of housing: dormitory (college)
Arranged by: Home university
If returning, I would choose: same place
Why?
I lived in a dorm with heaps of other internationals as well as aussies. We had parties all the time, everyone got on really well, the college always has exchange students so they know how to help out with anything you need. the location was really good, and we had central heating!!!
