The accomodation itself was not great (dirty, old, expensive). However, if I had to do it again, I would not hesitate and I would live there again- was a great experience-

Academic
Course recommendations
System really different- Differnet way of teaching (a lot of group work, presentation... that we don't have in France)- Way of working by yourself quite new for us- be careful to stay concentrated on course- it is really easy to get lost and not knowing what is more important: going to Parkend on the Thursday night or the Finance lecture on Fridays mornings? Nobody's there to force or at least control the student- Complete auto-management which can be a bit surprising at the beginning

Final comments
the international student life is a wonderful experience but I don't think it is open to everybody. The student has to have a certain maturity and independance, the will to learn and share from other culture. The key word to study abroad is: flexibility. For those who think that their country/culture is the best one and that they don't need to learn from others, my advice is then "Stay at home"! (except if you think that the French footbal team is the best one in the World, that is not a problem: you are right!).
Last comment: what I did not like is all the stereotypes linked to a nationality: French people are always late, German are boring... These kind of ideas narrow your mind: forget about them/ Same logic when you meet people who are prejudiced: show them that you are French (or any other nationality), yes, that it happens that you are late, eat bread and wine... but these are not your first caracter traits!
And last advice: go there to study and do it seriously, yes, but have fun as well and enjoy the local habits!

Personal spending habits
Food/Telephone/Accomodation/Nightlife and life in general are more expensive in England than in France
Travel: England is the centre of "cheap" travel at the moment with so many cheap ooportunities (coaches, ryanair, easyjet and other low price companies), it is so cheap that you can resist and as a result I have spent defintely more than at home!

Personal comments
lack of communication with local students- a bit dissapointing- I am sure that I did not loose my French accent at all! I have just mixed it with German/Greek/Spannish/Chinese accents because of seaking a lot to International students but not local
