even though japan is an expensive country, it is affordable thanks to scholarships.
also otaru might seem like a boring small town to many, but it is amazing how much fun you can have there,being one of the few foreigners in a non-crowded and gorgeous area of japan

I had spent a year at a high school in Osaka 3 years earlier so being able to go to a university enabled me to build on the skills I had already aquired. it was ideal!

I lived on campus during the second half of my stay. It was much more convenient to the university and allowed me to meet other foreign students.
