Personal spending habits
Especiall healthy food was more expensive than it is in Austria, as well as the phone since I had to buy a phone card instead of having a contract with a company what is usually cheper. I also travelled more than I would back home in Europe. Nightlife was definitely cheaper than in Vienna.

Travel Tips: there're cheap deals on the internet (southwest.com, hotels.com, expedia.com). Try to gather as much information as possible about your exchange university from former exchange students prior to your departure. This helps a lot for your preparation. Enjoy life on campus at N.C. State!!

Personal comments
For me it was no problem to talk or express myself in English either inside or outside class! What I had to get used to was the "Southern Slang" as well as my roomies' slang who were all African American! But I learned a lot and had a rellay great time with them as well as in class and with the other exchange students. I definiteley improved my language skills.

Housing
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
I had my own space, the appartement was nice and I lived together with US-Americans what made me get to know their cultural background, their habits and I could improve my language skills.
