Personal recommendation
Don't live on campus for more than six months. You will get problems with the lack of privacy after a couple of months. For 6 months it's ok though. But if you stay longer, go and look for an appartment in the city.

Go travelling!!! As much as you can. Singapore offers so much great opportunities for travelling. Organize your vaccinations at home, it takes a while before they start working.

They speak English in Singapore, but with a Chinese/Malay accent. I had no problems with following courses at university. However, I had some difficulties in the beginning with some locals in the city (esp. cab drivers).

Housing is extremely cheap compared to The Netherlands. Travelling in Australia and New Zealand is extremely expensive. Cost-saving tips: don't go there, and stay in the cheaper Asian countries for travelling.
