Housing is generally more expensive in France than it is in Austria.
Nightlife for the same reasons - a drink just costs more in France.
Concerning travelling; I travelled a lot there (Barcelona, Madrid, a lot of french cities ...) to profit from my stay in the south.

I spent more in rent because in Italy I don't have to face this expence.
I spent more in nightlife because there were more parties organised.
I spent more in travelling because, as I was living in France, I toke the opportunity to know better the country.
