If you are here only for one semester, try to choose the first one because the first two weeks (start mid-august) are integration weeks (Nolleperioden) and they are the best way to have fun and to meet other people!
For the nightlife, Kåren (the university's nightclub) is not bad but you better take a cab to go downtown at Cleo (open all the year) or Grace (open only during summer).

Final comments
The trip in Norway, to the Lofoten Islands is really beautiful, and going in Tallinn in Estonia by boat from Stockholm is also a great experience.

Personal comments
The language of the host country was not that necessary in everyday situation. Therefore I didn't learn it a lot. The language of the university (before coming I had everyday knowledge of english) improved quite a lot my previous knowledge. I feel, I gained there a lot of experience according to english language.
