I wish I knew how the costs would have worked out - I would have started saving earlier.

I really liked it - only one flaw. The university has a lot of students, therefore the application process/dealing with the international office was usually very frustrating and slow.

I had a wonderful time in Denmarl. I can recomment a very nice travel route: take a ferry from Copenhagen to Oslo, spend a couple of days in Oslo (they have a couple of very good hostels) and then take a train to Stockholm, and - a train back to Copenhagen (there are special offers for students for ferry tickets).

An international setting with thorough understanding regarding discussion

Overall
I believe that the university brought many positive things into my life. Its departments which are not bound by the restrictive rules, teachers who are quite open to discussion and away from being rude, and finally a great old campus that is being said to have some ghosts.. These create a great sense of community and educating oneself in the rainy, windy and cold yet beautiful city of Copenhagen.

Ask for help finding where to go for your residence permit and social security number - or you'll never find the buildings!

Copenhagen University is a beautiful University in a beautiful city. It is not a campus University, so you don't always feel like a student, but you are more integrated in city life.

Try to spend time with Danes and learn their language and you will probably get more from the experience than if you just stick with fellow international students. Go to the Roskilde Festival - End of June www.roskilde-festival.dk
