Course recommendations
If you're from a large uni, you'll be surprised by how little choice you have in your field of study. However, the classes are good, and all the teachers are used to having international students. I've not yet had a problem.

If you're not used to the UK style of assessment, it's a shock. One essay and one test decides your entire grade- a bit nerve racking! It's a small uni- so don't expect it to have the same access to resources and diversity of classes. But it does it's job!

Personal comments
Be prepared to cook your own meals here. Travel like crazy, despite what you think you'll be able to afford. Better to be in debt than spend all your time on campus.

Personal recommendation
It's a nice little Uni, and if you're flexible and have the right attitude, you'll have a blast. If you want it to be just like an American college, stay at home.

We shared 30 students to one kitchen, and almost everyone cooks for themselves. It gets a little messy, but somone comes in to clean about 4 days a week. I had a single room, my block mates were pretty friendly. High speed internet, no wireless, and there's a bar and a grocery type store within walking distance, no matter where you live.

Keele is in a village (a pub, a church, and a handful of cottages). Luckily, it's really easy to get out a travel, and you're in the middle of the country, so nothing is too far away. Students are ALWAYS ready to party, so if you like the campus life, you'll find friends here.
