Given that I am neither English nor French, I was speaking and studing in a "foreign" language al the time. I am more at ease with English, but my French is still on a bilingual level. In France I had to tune in to a "french thinking" mode, which lasted for the first 2 or 3 weeks. I did not have a language barrier and at times, people in my placement would actually ask me if I was from Quebeque of some funny french speaking place, because of my accent, not too strong, but it's there... The school has the habit of dealing with students whos french is not the first language so there was no problem there. The spirit of comunity in EBP would fill in the gaps of vocabulary here and there, ie, if I don't know what a word means, the person next to me will. Bilingual diccionaries were allowed in Exams.
Overall, not a problem, rather a challenge.

At the beginning, it was pretty hard to communicate with local students, espeacially if you want to speak about social life or daily-life, however, i guess i became at ease in most situations.

As there were a lot of other international students, i had to force myself to get into contact with french speaking students. But in general, it was possible to speak French every day

was very lucky to be in the position to submerge into the language as it is a much more effective way of learning which i know many programmes dont actually benefit from.

My experience concerning the language is being very positive. It's very interesting to see how fast you can learn French. Moreover, I'm improving English and German too
