Course recommendations
Familiarise yourself with the book early. It looks complicated but is actually quite easy once you know your way around the book. Be aware that some courses in the book may not be running!

Could do with a bit of guidance from a local student as to what to expect from various courses - the book doesn't give much of a description.

International Financial Markets is an interesting class to take. The international Advertising Project is a lot of work, but is worth it if you have the time.

Many block classes are short, begin around the same time, and end around the same time. This leaves a lot of work to do in a short amount of time.

I was lucky to become good mentors that helped me a lot in the beginning, but some people never met there mentors and had a hard time in the beginning to arrange everything. This could be improved. Otherwise I think we were good informed in time about the university.

I highly recommend going abroad to study while you gain so much new experience, meet new people, learn the language and so on. I would though make contacts from the host university before going to get useful tips and information. If I had the possibility I would definitely go again, but this time to improve my other language skills!

The language experience in Linz was fairly because I was Irish alot of the erasmus spoke english to be so it was hard to practice my language but as the year went on I became more confident and I spoke more of the language and I wasn't scared to speak it to the local students as well.

Personal spending habits
I spent less in Austria because the country does not rip you off for many everyday products like Ireland does. Shopping in the Supermarkets like Billa abd Aldi saves you a lot.

I can give some travel tips: You can travel a lot in Austria, and also in other neighbour countries, as Hungary, Czech Republik, Germany, and Italy. Don't miss to travel a lot in the country, and you should go sking! Don't worry, if you don't understand the local dialect...it's terrible, but you can learn it!
