Actual city of Amsterdam: Aroma cafe, Supper Club, Abraxus, Soup Kitchen (especially when it's cold!)Melkweg for lots of events, de Koii HH's student bar for both roudy and chilled barring, Crystal Pizza forget kebabs, cheap and scrumpy pizza! or next door get a falafel. Bazzar clothing shop really nice ladies wear.

the best bar was Cocos Outback, where we used to gather quite a lot. The best place to spend a good night with friends is Leidseplein in Amsterdam, where all the nightlife is boiling. Of course the places not to be missed are the Red-Light District, many Amsterdam parks (especially in spring-summer) and arts museums.

It is possible to manage in English almost in every situation in Amsterdam. In addition, after few weeks I was able to understand written and also a bit of spoken language (Dutch) because of previous language knowledge of German, Swedish and English. So even the information written in Dutch was quite clear for me.
