Nightlife in Reykjavík is really crazy! So if you want to spend your weekends with going out - definitly a good choice. But if you're more into travelling or sightseeing or enjoying the nature Iceland is even more definitly the right choice for you... It's an amazing country - I enjoyed it a lot...

I wish I had known...
IT'S AN AMAZING COUNTRY - don't go home after university is finished - take your time to travel around. And I didn't know that it's not that cold... It's far in the north but - to say the truth - in Austria it's often much colder in winter..

Personal recommendation
It's a nice university in the centre of Reykjavík. Some courses are really good - f.e. I enjoyed the course "Economic development and Globalization" most. And most of the teachers are really motivated and encourage the students.

Academic
Course recommendations
For Business students there are only some courses in English - but anyway - the courses are okay - they are not the most relevant reason to decide where to go?!?! :)

Icelandic is a very difficult but really interesting language. As nearly all Icelanders speak good English it is not necessary to learn Icelandic if you don't want to.

Expenses
Main source of funding:
Personal savings
Other sources of funding:
Family
Government assistance
An ERASMUS grant
Work opportunities:
I didn't want/need to work
Personal spending habits
In Iceland the average income and so on are much more higher than in Austria. Therefore for us it is more expansive regarding all situations in the every-day life. If you want to work there its no problem to find a job which is good paid. But I didn't do that - I relied on savings and "loans".. :) I wanted to use the time here to travel and get to know the country and the people.

Cost saving: food: BONUS!!! (a supermarket chain with a pink pig as their sign) and don't go out to eat - cook at home... ;) regarding travelling: hitch-hiking is not that difficult, but better in the touristic season
