In france, you either speak french, or not communicate at all. Students usually communicate in other languages, but in all other areas of life you have to speak french. So it is good for practicing.

Generally, well organised and clean. Rooms were big and although the campus was not in Paris, in itself it was quite nice and cosy.

I spoke both French and English with the exchange students and French with the local people. The French people had most of the time a positive attitude towards exchange students' French speaking.

Don't spend your weekends on campus. Travel around! France is a very nice country. If you want to know Paris better, you might want to rent a room in the capital. Going to & away from campus is a hassle if you don't have a car. I often hitchhicked from campus to Paris. But going back takes about 45min-1h with public transports if you know the train schedules!!! But campus life is great. You get to meet a lot of people!

Interactions between local and international students are good provided you speak english or French, but people tend to speak to you only in english if they know that you are a foreigner
