Peel Pub on St Cathrine's a great place to go for a few before going out, the best night clubs are mostly on St Laurent. Cafe Campus on a Tuesday night is a student must!

I speak french perfectly, but I had some problems with th e accent of Quebec. Some subjects were in english, as the everyday comunication in the city.

Despite the fact that Montreal is in Québec, the French-speaking province of Canada, English is widely used which hindered me from speaking French outside the classroom.

Housing I received was provided by GIA-Gestion. It is a company recommended by HEC Montreal, however, it is overpriced and usually offers mediocre housing. My housing was very expensive, and not only was I told I'd be living with my male landlord (I am a female undergraduate), living with one person turned into living with 3 as sometimes his girlfriend, his girlfriend's son and his own son would stay over too. I paid a lot for something bad and got something worse.

If you want to learn a language, you have to be confronted with it all day and not only 1 or 2 hours a week. So, going abroad is the best way, to learn a language!
