even if most of things cost less than in Italy I spent a lot during my exchange experince in Montreal because I took the Erasmus like an holiday lasted 6 months; I travelled a lot all over canada so at the end travel+nightlife+accomodation+food= more than 8000 euro in 6 months

Yes, hunt for housing in June/July/August. There will be much more to rent, and landlords will be willing to deal.
