I reccomend going to the Cafe "La Habana" to hang out and drink coffee and for nightlife go to "La Madrilla" or for an older scene two clubs called "Versus" or "El Cameron."

All I can reccommend is try to involve yourself with native people instead of only people that speak your language. You will learn the language much faster that way as well as gain friendships. Don't be shy, just practice every chance you get talking to anyone.

I wish I would have known more about the style of dress. It is more elegant than where I am from and be sure to have comfortable shoes to walk around in.

Final comments
Be sure to travel when you are in Spain because there is so many neat places in Spain. Hotels or Hostels are inexpensive as well.
