It was ok to communicate with young people but it is common that the older people do not speak English and German . I will recommend to learn some basic phrases in Slovak.

i couldn't improve my English level so much, since the lecturers' English level wasn't so good either, It's adviseable to learn some basic words in Slovak language

Slovakia is a beatiful country with a beautiful nature and nice people who know how to have fun and enjou their lives.
Slovakia has also a great position laying right in the middle of the Europe which makes accesse to many other Europena countries (e.g. from Bratislava it is just an hour by car to Wienna and Budapest).

I mainly spoke English because Slovak was very difficult for me. outside the university I spoke a little slovak but made it with english and german.

Everything except clothes is cheaper than in Austria. Especially train tickets should be bought at the Slovak Railways.
