Overall
I wish I had known...
try to get to know some local students, don't just stick with the exchange group from your home country--it is very easy to fall into the trap.

Personal comments
I like the proximity of the college to London Proper, it really allowed me time to explore but at the same time to get away....don't recall pub names though am a big fan of the museums, especially the art (free) and the hidden eateries like the Wren of St. James--great lunch deals.

Academic
Course recommendations
I would recommend taking at least one class not tailored to the exchange student, they tend to be more work but allow you more access to the local student population and a taste of what the college is really like.

Personal comments
As much as i enjoyed the experince there was not much of a true campus and the school resources where limited--like computers, gym etc. but it forced you to get out into the local community and check out the local library etc.

Housing
Type of housing: With a family
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: With a family
Why?
I thought living with a family made the experience as the couple i lived with had in depth knowledge of the area and some really great stories. It was also nice to have someone to turn to if need be.

bring more cash or have a way to spend more than you think you will need--you don't want to have to be tied to your budget when everyone else is out doing things.
