Do not forget about medical insurance.
travel tips: watch out for sncf-offers to cities in france...
In paris it is possible to get a subsidy for housing (ask for APL)!
if you stay longer than one term in france, consider to sign in a contract with a mobile-phone provider rather than phoning with pre-payed cards, which is very expensive.
An exchange-student-coordinator and an international committee at the host university will be very helpful for any sort of questions.

Housing
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Independently - My choice
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
I was lucky with my appartement but cheap appartements that are well located are hard to find in paris. room in bigger flat with more flatmates or student residence would be great too.

It's not easy to find accomodation in Paris. I was quite lucky but the offers in the intranet and the coordinator are very helpful. Residence of university very nice too, but demand is big.

Personal comments
Parties organized by student committees at the most famous parisian clubs or at school. Must!
Plenty of traditional, cosy cafés, bars...especially in the latin quarter and in le marrais.
