I did´t feel very priorized among the spanish students, you shoul be better to understand and communicate with us and give us the same opportunity as the spanish students.

You have a lot of opportunities in ESADE, but you have to investigate on you own of your rights and the fasilities; library, mailboxes, organisation/ administration information etc.

I was pretty well-informed - maybe apart from the fact that I didn't know that it can rain a lot in Spain...

ESADE is a very nice place for an exchange - it's a small private university, very well equipped, you get to know Spanish people rather easily, Barcelona is simply a great city... Go for it, if you can!

I recommend everybody that they inform themselves before going abroad. I saw a lot of people that came to Barcelona completely unprepared (e.g. not knowing anything about the difference Catalonia-Spain) and had a very hard time in the beginning. The ESADE intranet offers perfect service for academic matters, several webpages can help you in finding accomodation, and there are many travel guides that offer you some cultural information. All in all, it's a great place to be - I'm sad my exchange is over now!

I wish I had known...
I wish that I would have taken a Spanish grammar course before going Barcelona. I hadn't taken Spanish for 2 years prior to my exchange and I thought that I could have taken Spanish simultaneous to my studies, but that was not the case.

The teachers are nice/friendly, it is hard to get to know local students, the exchange students are fantastic, the weather is nice, and the course curriculum is lacking in comparision to North American standards.

Be patient, as you will find a lot of the systems (e.g. businesses, administratives systems) to be slow and frustrating. It really is a change of life style.
